HPL, PF, rep 3
High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
Description
This experiment is on a system consisting of a High Pressure Laminate (HPL) cladding panel and a Phenolic (PF) foam insulation panel, separated with a cavity of 50 mm width. It is the third repetition of this system configuration.
Experiment Notes
At approximately 8 minutes the HPL panel began to touch the insulation panel, affecting the mass measurements. At approximately 18 minutes the HPL panel began to collapse, causing a sudden change in the mass measurements as debris fell into the debris tray, onto both load cells, or off the entire assembly. Some of the debris had to be removed from the assembly to protect the equipment. The Phenolic foam insulation was seen to continue smouldering after the experiment was terminated, requiring extinguishment.
